Ontario's guidance counsellors carry hundreds of students each (People for Education put the provincial average near 375 students per counsellor in 2019, and worse than 800:1 in the most-stretched schools in 2018). PathwayPrep doesn't replace what you do — it hands you a verified, source-cited starting point so your conversation with a family begins at page one instead of at a search engine.
What a PathwayPrep report is — and isn't
Every institutional fact (admission ranges, prerequisites, deadlines, tuition) comes from the university's own published page, checked by a human and stamped with the date we verified it. When we can't verify something, the report says "confirm with the university" instead of guessing. No admission guarantees, no advice-giving claims: it's a conversation-starter you use, with the professional judgment staying yours.
The Educator Program
Register with your official school email. After a human review, you receive a monthly claim link during the school year (September–June): a small number of access codes (a free Silver report, for students you judge need one — we never ask families why) and a pool of discount codes. Codes are single-use and expire at month end. No cost to your school, no compensation to you — we state that proudly, because your independence is the point — and we collect no student data.
